Position Summary: The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in supporting production and operations by ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. This position is responsible for purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and inventory support to maintain uninterrupted workflow and meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Review purchase requests and issue purchase orders based on business needs and approvals.
Monitor supply chain updates and adjust procurement plans to avoid delays.
Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved sourcing.
Ensure purchasing aligns with budget goals, tracking variances between expected and actual costs.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
Source and evaluate vendors;manage contract negotiations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Oversee and manage supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments to validate demand forecasts, support new materials or equipment implementation, and resolve procurement-related issues.
Partner with leadership to explore alternative sourcing options and improve supply chain performance.
Track vendor performance metrics (e.G., delivery timeliness, quality, and reliability).
Resolve payment discrepancies with Finance and Accounts Payable.
Contribute to the development and adherence of procurement policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred;equivalent work experience considered.
Minimum of 2–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Familiarity with procurement systems;SAP experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and budgeting principles is a plus.
