A well-established Animal Clinic is in search of an experienced “Certified”Veterinarian Technician who loves to be part of a growing clinic. Successful candidates must have a "high" drive to offer clients personal and caring service. Must demonstrate a love and passion for the industry, clients, and pet friends.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Veterinarian in the course of providing medical care and treatment to patients. Technicians are responsible for patient intake, and accessing and recording patient vitals. Performing laboratory work, nursing care, surgical assisting, and client education. The position requires a high level of professionalism, ethics, and knowledge of Veterinary Medicine. Veterinary Technicians must be comfortable working and educating the public in regards to the care needed to maintain a happy and healthy pet.
Job Duties:
As a Veterinary Technician you will:
Ascertain the patients’current and previous medical history
Perform and record patient vitals
Gather various laboratory samples from the patient and perform the necessary tests
Perform x-rays
Prep patients for surgery and provide nursing care to hospitalized and post –op patients
Administer and perform various medical treatments including intravenous and oral medications
Perform Dental Prophylaxis
Accurately record the patient's medical treatment and identify normal and abnormal appearances
Various other duties may be assigned under the direction of the attending Veterinarian
Job Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years experience working in a veterinarian clinic with the ability to provide excellent customer service
Demonstrate being a self-starter to work closely with the Veterinarian and clinic team in taking care of patient needs
Must be detailed-oriented and able to follow clinic procedures/processes when taking care of patients
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple patients at a time
Communication skills are a must to be able to discuss medical treatments and patient needs with clients
Able to communicate with client’s medication instructions and follow-up treatment dates
Must be a “certified”Veterinarian Technician
Knowledge of the Cornerstone software program, Idexx Laboratory equipment, and digital radiography are preferred but NOT a must
Bilingual is a plus (Eng/Spa)
Must be a pet “lover”and have experience in working with pets
Client Skills:
Ability to recommend various services and products that would benefit the client and patient as outlined under practice protocol
Maintain patient goals outlined by practice protocol associated with the Veterinary Technician position.
