Job Title: Vice President of Accounting (Multifamily Property Management) Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid / Local Candidates Only) Employment Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on and transformative Vice President of Accounting to lead a well-established accounting function within a financially stable, privately held real estate portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to rebuild, modernize, and scale the accounting organization while partnering closely with executive leadership.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a department and directly influence operational and financial performance across a large multifamily portfolio. What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee the full accounting function across a multifamily real estate portfolio
Manage and develop a team of approximately 9 direct reports, including both U.S.-based and international team members
Redesign and strengthen accounting processes, workflows, and reporting structures
Deliver timely, accurate financial insights to executive leadership
Act as a key advisor to the CEO, providing clear, actionable financial guidance
Build, mentor, and elevate a high-performing accounting team
Drive operational efficiency and consistency across domestic and international accounting operations
Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives, growth planning, and organizational development
What We’re Looking For
10–12 years of progressive accounting experience (Senior Controller-level or VP of Accounting)
Strong background in multifamily property management accounting
Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams (international experience a plus)
Hands-on, execution-focused leader who thrives in fast-moving environments
Ability to simplify complex financial information for executive decision-making
Strong process improvement and team development capabilities
Experience with Yardi is highly preferred / essential
Comfortable working in a direct, fast-paced, and performance-driven culture
Must be based in or near Seattle, WA (hybrid opportunity - 2 days on-site)
