Transportation-Roadway Design Engineer
Atlanta, GA area.
Responsibilities:
*Engineering design including geometric highway, street design & roadway drainage design
and completion of construction engineering and inspection tasks
*Construction plans and project displays
*Roadway design including roadway alignments, cross-sections, drainage,
maintenance of traffic and erosion and sedimentation control
*Collecting field data, which could include conducting field observations
*Preparing cost estimates, reports, and technical memos
Qualifications:
*Knowledge of fundamental transportation standards
*Familiarity with state and FHWA design standards, guidelines, and policies
*Proficient in the use of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
*Experience with computer programs such as MicroStation, Geopak, ArcGIS, InRoads, various
CAD, OpenRoads Designer
*GDOT or local government design experience
*Self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environment
*Able to maintain project schedules, which may require occasional extended hours and
overnight travel
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*General interpersonal skills including active listening, teamwork, responsibility, dependability,
leadership, motivation, flexibility, and patience
*BS or MS in civil engineering or another closely related field
*PE license preferred
