The Terminal Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the operations and financial performance of our local facilities. This position requires a strategic leader who can drive efficiency, ensure compliance with safety standards, and enhance customer satisfaction. The Terminal Manager will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of activities including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and maintaining high production standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and operations management, with a proven ability to lead large teams and manage substantial inventories. This role is pivotal in achieving our business objectives and maintaining smooth terminal operations.
This position has direct reports;previous experience managing a large team is required to be successful in this role, as well as the ability to manage large-scale inventories. Please note that this position often requires overtime, and minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air will be required.
Essential Functions:
Process large volumes of vehicles according to customer specifications.
Manages a team of supervisors' managers, indirectly leading up to 250 employees.
Lead operating planning of forecasting labor.
Contact with customers and manage relationships between operations and customers.
Direct coach on labor costs.
Takes ownership of business.
Keep all terminal reports up to date.
Meet contractual goals.
Oversees logistics of yard planning
Ensure contracts of customers are accurate.
Manage all account receivables.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university;or one to two years of related experience and/or training, in combination with an Associate’s degree and/or trade school is required.
Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
Strong customer relations skills, including analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to different situations, and show proven stress management skills.
Demonstrate supervisory/leadership skills and initiative.
Ability to work efficiently in a multi-tasking, time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.
