JOB TITLE: Terminal Manager

LOCATION: Benicia, CA.

WORK TYPE: Onsite, Full-Time

The Terminal Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the operations and financial performance of our local facilities. This position requires a strategic leader who can drive efficiency, ensure compliance with safety standards, and enhance customer satisfaction. The Terminal Manager will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of activities including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and maintaining high production standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and operations management, with a proven ability to lead large teams and manage substantial inventories. This role is pivotal in achieving our business objectives and maintaining smooth terminal operations.

This position has direct reports;previous experience managing a large team is required to be successful in this role, as well as the ability to manage large-scale inventories. Please note that this position often requires overtime, and minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air will be required.

Essential Functions:
  • Process large volumes of vehicles according to customer specifications.
  • Manages a team of supervisors' managers, indirectly leading up to 250 employees.
  • Lead operating planning of forecasting labor.
  • Contact with customers and manage relationships between operations and customers.
  • Direct coach on labor costs.
  • Takes ownership of business.
  • Keep all terminal reports up to date.
  • Meet contractual goals.
  • Oversees logistics of yard planning
  • Ensure contracts of customers are accurate.
  • Manage all account receivables.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university;or one to two years of related experience and/or training, in combination with an Associate’s degree and/or trade school is required.
  • Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
  • Strong customer relations skills, including analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations, and show proven stress management skills.
  • Demonstrate supervisory/leadership skills and initiative.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-tasking, time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience successfully managing budgets.
  • Ability to communicate and exercise as a leader when necessary.
  • Ability to perform light physical activity daily is required.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including MS Excel/spreadsheets, and database management is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).
