About Our Client
Our client provides design engineering service for the transportation, utility, environment and aviation markets and is a top 100 ENR firm and is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Florida Region in Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
- Prepares a Project Execution Plan (PEP) that identifies the project team organization, identifies each specific task or phase and all work that must be performed to complete the project, outlines a schedule to ensure that the project can be completed on time, and develops an estimate and schedule of the manpower requirements needed to complete the project
- Holds a project review the PEP with project team members
- Ensures Quality Control reviews are taking place and documented
- Notifies accounting when the project is ready for the closure cycle
- Maintains direct contact with clients on a continuing basis to discuss technical and scheduling issues
- Responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact, and the growth of the FDOT Roadway Design practice. Managing the design and delivery of projects profitably while being actively involved in design issues.
- Staff management
- Responsible for budget management, tracking accruals vs percent complete vs estimates to complete, managing scope changes through executed client contract modifications
- Conducts project staff meetings to review progress
- Month end project review conducted by the Regional Manager
- Prepares and presents a detailed project review if and when their project is selected for detailed review by the Group Manager
- Prepares and issues a monthly project progress report, as required
- Reviews Revenue Summary Reports monthly, including the status of A/R and WIP
- Ensures technical design changes are approved to conform to the standards, systems and procedures
- Solicits the help of the Project Director and other Project Managers, as appropriate, to solve scheduling or technical problems encountered in the progress of the work
- Evaluates the effect of scope changes on project budgets and schedules, then negotiates with the client to increase fees required to accommodate such scope changes as necessary
- Reviews, approves, and provides necessary documentation for invoicing in a timely manner. Maintains client accounts including collection of Accounts Receivable (AR’ s)
- Provides input and participates in business development efforts
- Maintains professional relationships with all clients
Qualifications
- BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 10-15 years relevant experience in roadway design and managing EITs.
- Must have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules and budgets.
- FDOT experience is required.
- FL PE required.
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering work with FDOT.
- Experienced in FDOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications.
- Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing medium to large projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects.
- Proven leadership, communication, mentoring and client liaison skills
- Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
