We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Manager for a local manufacturing client. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow within the Shipping and Receiving Department.
Manage policy deployment in areas such as Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and meet delivery dates.
Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and address any maintenance needs promptly.
Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
Provide leadership for problem resolution and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
Plan and oversee production schedules to meet completion dates.
Supervise non-exempt employees and carry out related responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques and quality control procedures.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and deal respectfully with employees at all levels.
