Job Description

Job Title: Service Manager- Lubbock, TX
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial performance, operational goals, and achievement of key metrics for the Service Department. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, adhering to budgets, and maintaining strong relationships with senior management, office staff, Field Service Advisors, technicians, and customers. The Service Manager plays a critical role in resolving customer issues, ensuring efficient problem-solving, and fostering lasting relationships with both internal teams and external clients.

This position requires professionalism, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Operations Management: Schedule and supervise daily service operations, monitoring workloads and inner-office responsibilities to maintain efficiency.
  • Customer Support: Confer with customers to address issues, provide solutions, and oversee equipment repair and maintenance to ensure satisfaction.
  • Staff Supervision & Development:
    • Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs and profitability goals.
    • Establish mentorship programs for new technicians and provide ongoing support for the team.
    • Ride along with technicians to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and manage budgets, reviewing expenses to ensure alignment with financial goals.
    • Review vehicle expenses and recommend replacements when necessary.
  • Policy & Goal Monitoring: Continuously evaluate departmental objectives and policies to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with A/R, CSS, sales teams, and the Branch Manager to address billing issues and other departmental needs.
    • Recommend salary adjustments, evaluate job performance, and discuss potential changes with the Branch Manager.
  • Special Projects: Lead or participate in other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Educational & Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on technician in forklifts, heavy equipment, heavy trucks, automotive, or agricultural equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory position preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, squat, sit, and drive as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy shop environment.
