The Service Manager will oversee the financial performance and operational success of the Service Department, ensuring the achievement of organizational goals and desired metrics. This includes managing daily service operations, maintaining budgets, and fostering strong relationships with senior management, office staff, Field Service Advisors, technicians, CSS/sales, and customers. The Service Manager plays a critical role in resolving customer issues efficiently while building long-lasting relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
This position requires professionalism, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management
Schedule and supervise daily service operations, ensuring workloads and office responsibilities are appropriately managed.
Authorize repairs, including full maintenance agreements, and oversee work in process.
Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet the department's needs for efficiency and profitability.
Customer Relations & Problem-Solving
Address customer issues, provide solutions, and ensure the proper supervision of equipment repairs and maintenance.
Foster positive communication with service staff and company managers to support seamless operations.
Performance Monitoring
Continuously track department goals, objectives, and policies to deliver high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Review and manage expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
Monitor vehicle expenses and recommend replacements as needed.
Team Leadership & Development
Work with the Branch Manager on decisions related to salaries, job performance, and necessary personnel changes.
Ride along with technicians to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable feedback.
Establish mentorship programs for new technicians to support their growth and integration.
Collaboration & Communication
Coordinate with A/R, CSS, sales teams, and managers to resolve billing issues and enhance departmental workflows.
Provide regular reports to senior management on departmental performance and initiatives.
Other Duties
Lead or contribute to other assigned projects or special initiatives as required.
5+ years of hands-on experience as a technician in forklifts, heavy equipment, heavy trucks, automotive, or agricultural equipment.
5+ years of supervisory experience in a service or repair-focused role preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Clean driving record.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Regular stooping, squatting, sitting, and driving are required.
