Senior Tax Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Tax Analyst will support the tax team in various compliance and research activities, including calculating and projecting taxable income, preparing federal and state tax returns, calculating tax provisions, and assisting with REIT testing.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of income tax provisions (ASC 740).
  • Support the preparation of tax-related testing and projections.
  • Prepare corporate income tax workpapers, returns, estimates, and extensions at the federal and state levels.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms to facilitate the preparation of tax returns for corporate and partnership entities.
  • Review workpapers and returns prepared by external parties.
  • Contribute to the calculation of state apportionment.
  • Support compliance for new entities and prepare necessary tax elections.
  • Conduct research on federal and state tax laws to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the tax compliance calendar, ensuring timely filing of tax documents.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and notices from federal and state authorities.
  • Assist with due diligence requests and processes.
  • Process tax refunds and payments as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of tax processes to streamline deliverables.
  • Provide support for ad hoc tax-related projects and requests.
  • Participate in regular business meetings with attention to potential tax implications.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state corporate and partnership taxation.
  • Tax provision experience is preferred.
  • Experience with tax-related testing and compliance is preferred.
  • Resourceful, organized, and a strong team player with excellent research abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Certification: CPA preferred.
  • 4-5 years of tax experience in private industry and/or public accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software, experience with relevant platforms is a plus.
