Senior Buyer - Manufacturing Client

Our manufacturing client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. As a subject matter expert in procurement, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for negotiating with suppliers and purchasing designated materials, components, equipment, or services to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure materials, equipment, supplies, and services following established purchasing regulations and procedures.
  • Obtain quotations, examine bids, and negotiate terms to secure favorable pricing, quantity, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand specific project needs and provide procurement support.
  • Proactively identify and address material issues to minimize production delays and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and reliability, identify potential suppliers, and develop new supply sources as needed.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned purchase orders to ensure the best quality at the best value.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve product rejections and maintain supplier performance standards.
  • Communicate issues and risks to management promptly and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Work closely with the Production Planner and Supply Chain Manager to ensure efficient movement of materials through the procurement and manufacturing cycle.
  • Maintain integrity and compliance with all company processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Materials-related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience or equivalent knowledge of supply chain functions.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems is required;experience with machined and electronic components is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 standards preferred.

Skillset:
  • Proficient in computer systems supporting production, inventory control, and materials requirement planning (MRP).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules, solve urgent problems, and document production outcomes.
