An established heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Grading Foreman to relocate from Augusta, Georgia, to Charlotte, North Carolina. The company will pay the selected candidate’s full relocation expenses.
This is a permanent position located in Charlotte. It is not a travel assignment or temporary project.
The Senior Grading Foreman will lead grading and earthwork crews on commercial, municipal, and federal construction projects. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced field leader who understands heavy equipment operations, takes pride in quality work, and knows how to keep crews safe, productive, and on schedule.
What You Will Do
•Lead and supervise grading and earthwork crews.
•Oversee mass grading, site preparation, cut and fill operations, and finish grading.
•Coordinate daily field operations with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
•Direct bulldozer, motor grader, excavator, roller, and other heavy equipment operators.
•Read and interpret grading plans, civil drawings, and survey staking.
•Verify elevations, compaction, production, and project quality standards.
•Coordinate with utility contractors and other trades to maintain project schedules.
•Complete daily reports, production tracking, and equipment utilization logs.
•Maintain OSHA safety standards and environmental compliance.
What We Are Looking For
•Five or more years of grading, earthwork, or site development experience.
•Proven experience leading grading crews.
•Strong knowledge of bulldozers, motor graders, excavators, rollers, and related heavy equipment.
•Ability to read grading plans and civil construction drawings.
•Experience with mass grading, cut and fill operations, compaction, and finish grading.
•Experience using GPS machine control systems such as Trimble or Leica is highly preferred.
•Knowledge of erosion control, stormwater compliance, and jobsite safety.
•Valid driver’s license.
•CDL and OSHA 30 certification are preferred.
