Job Description

Job Title: Sales Director - Employee Benefits 

Location: New York

Job Overview:
A growing national organization is seeking a proven Sales Director to lead their Employee Benefits Solutions group in the Northeast territory, ideally sitting in New York. The successful candidate will focus on initiating new business by developing relationships with employer group clients, particularly in both the public and private sector. This role requires a demonstrated track record of success in selling group health and supplemental health products.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and acquire new business revenue through sales to new and existing clients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the employee benefits industry with a focus on group health and ancillary insurance markets.
- Actively seek new business opportunities through phone calls, emails, and CRM software.
- Understand and articulate the full range of company products and services.
- Collaborate in team sales situations with other Employee Benefits Consultants and support personnel.
- Manage overall client relationships with support from account management teams.
- Educate and develop staff in new client sales situations and existing client service requirements.
- Cross-sell products to current clients outside the Employee Benefits sector.
- Prepare and implement individual business plans, production budgets, and weekly sales reports.
- Develop and maintain intercompany relationships in line with company culture.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Health & Life license required.
- Minimum 5 years of successful sales and industry experience, including outside sales in the group health insurance or voluntary market space.
- Preferred knowledge of Benefit Enrollment Technology, payroll systems, and/or HRIS.
- Positive attitude, passion for building relationships, and a self-starter mentality with demonstrated initiative.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel up to 35% within the sales territory.
