As part of their continued expansion in the UK and Europe, they’re hiring a Sales Engineer to lead technical sales efforts and drive new business opportunities across the region.
Role Overview This is a high-energy, customer-facing role that combines capital equipment sales with real-time technical consultation. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle—identifying leads, conducting hands-on equipment demos, responding to RFPs, and collaborating with internal technical teams. The role requires up to 50% travel throughout the UK and EU and is ideal for a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Pursue qualified leads, manage all aspects of the sales cycle, and convert prospects into active clients
Generate leads via cold calling, referrals, and regional marketing efforts
Conduct live, on-site product demonstrations for technical and business decision-makers
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions
Respond to RFIs/RFPs/RFQs with detailed, technical proposals
Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure product solutions align with client needs
Collect and communicate customer insights and application trends to internal stakeholders
Travel throughout the UK and EU sales territory
Maintain accurate CRM records (Salesforce experience preferred)
Resolve customer inquiries and issues with urgency and professionalism
Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in capital equipment sales
Strong background in industrial processing or materials-handling systems
Comfortable working in highly technical sales environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident in live product demonstrations and installations at customer sites
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
Highly organized, analytical, and adaptable
Must be willing to travel up to 50%
Valid UK driver’s license and passport required
