Sales Engineer - Raleigh / Charlotte, NC
Our client is seeking a self-motivated, results-driven Sales Engineer to join their growing organization. This Sales Engineer position reports to the South Region Sales Director and is based in our Charlotte office (or Raleigh/Durham metro area) and is responsible for existing and new customer relationships throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Your relationship skills, strong business acumen, and technical expertise will be paramount in working with automation machine builders and manufacturing plants across the region to define process improvements that improve their bottom-line results.

Job Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers and potential customers to learn about their business, the products they make, and the initiatives they have for improvement.
  • Implement a sales process that clearly defines the customer's challenge and their concept for a solution.
  • Be adept at determining the decision-making process and key stakeholders involved in a sale.
  • Leverage technical product and application knowledge to provide high quality solutions to automation challenges.
  • Effectively communicate with customers using digital media such as web conferences, LinkedIn, and phone calls.
  • Conduct in-person meetings on large projects to evaluate machines, solve applications or present our solutions.
  • Work in a team selling environment to leverage expertise across the Sales team.
  • Energetically approach new business and prospecting to develop future growth.
  • Continuously learn automation industry trends and our solutions that relate to those trends.
  • Position largely measured on sales and new customer growth.

Candidate Requirements
  • 3 to 7 years of related technical sales experience preferred.
  • Engineering or Business degree preferred.
  • Industrial automation experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to sell in remote or face-to-face situations.
