SENIOR TEST ENGINEER

Job Description


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the development team to review and enhance requirements and test specifications.
  • Lead functional testing of cells, battery modules, electronics, software, and full packs throughout product development.
  • Develop new test equipment for hardware and software development examinations.
  • Execute product verification test plans, cooperating with engineering to devise test cases and procedures.
  • Formulate hardware, procedures, and reports for battery pack testing in production acceptance tests.
  • Manage daily tasks and priorities of engineering technician(s), test equipment providers, and test labs to bolster product development goals.
  • Analyze root causes of test failures and propose corrective actions to the development team.
  • Assist in crafting project bids and proposals concerning testing, feasibility, scope, cost, and timing.

Qualifications: Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in Engineering, Product Development, or a related technical field.
  • Accumulate 5+ years of work experience in product testing and validation.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Design validation planning using DFMEA and DVP&R based on customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with battery cycling equipment, programming, maintenance, and operation (preferred).
  • Exhibit expertise in multiple forms of environmental testing, encompassing shock, vibration, and thermal testing.
  • Preferred experience in battery safety testing, with a preference for familiarity with UNDOT 38.3 and SAE J2464 standards.
  • Indicate familiarity with MIL-STD-810 test procedures, which is a plus.
  • Proficiently designed and composed test control programs, particularly using LabVIEW or analogous test software.
  • Possess experience working with CAN (Controller Area Network), preferably utilizing CANalyzer or similar software.
  • Be adept in Microsoft Office.
  • Showcase prowess in data report automation using tools such as Excel macros, VBA, Python, etc.
