Job Description
Research and Development Technician
Join rapidly growing division of a world leading high performance manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in new product development of high speed fabric, sectional, and rolling steel
- Work with the engineering group to enhance product function, reliability and serviceability
- Fabricate and install prototype components
- Install doors for testing
- Conduct and document testing of doors and components
- Be the primary resource in preparing and conducting static and dynamic windload tests including maintenance of test equipment
- Act on Engineering Change Requests as needed
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of architectural testing and international building codes a plus
- Analytical problem solver
- Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment
- Able to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely manner
- Experience with 2d and 3d CAD; Pro-Engineer/CREO a plus
- Effective communicator
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues
- Ability to work in a group environment
Education
- AS in Engineering and an engineering discipline or 3 years of relevant experience
Department and Supervisor
The Research and Development Technician will be part of the Engineering Department and will report to the Engineering Manager
Travel
Expected travel will be < 5%
