Job Title: Control Room Operator (W-2 Contract Role)
Contract Duration: November 25, 2024 –May 24, 2025 (with potential for extension) Work Location: Midland, Texas Schedule: Rotating 7/7 schedule (Thursday to Wednesday), alternating day and night shifts. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Control Room Operator to actively monitor and support the safety and performance of the company’s upstream production assets. This role involves identifying abnormal operating conditions, coordinating logistical activities, and ensuring the efficient operation of production facilities and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in production operations, well optimization, and monitoring systems, with the ability to adapt to evolving operational strategies. Key Responsibilities
Act as the central point of contact for all field operations, liaising between field teams during emergencies and abnormal operating conditions.
Monitor and analyze production facilities and wells for safety and efficiency using systems like Cygnet and Foresite.
Conduct root cause analysis and well optimization using remote control systems and SCADA platforms.
Dispatch Lease Operators and third-party trucking companies as needed to address operational issues.
Track and coordinate the disposal and delivery of various fluids and materials, ensuring compliance with facility requirements.
Input and manage maintenance work orders through K-2 and provide follow-ups until issues are resolved.
Monitor field camera systems to ensure safety and efficiency during on-site activities.
Provide daily updates to stakeholders and generate reports using tools like Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI.
Participate in alarm management and rationalization through SCADA and other monitoring systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 2-5 years in roles such as Lease Operator, Automation Technician, Production Technician, or Control Room Operator.
Skills:
Basic understanding of production processing equipment and artificial lift systems.
Proficiency in SCADA systems (Cygnet) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of oilfield logistics and water recycling/disposal systems.
Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule and manage prolonged periods of monitoring activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 5-10 years in roles like Lease Operator, Production Technician, or Control Room Operator.
Advanced Skills:
Expertise in production processing equipment and well optimization.
Experience with compression systems and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods (e.G., Waterflood, CO2 injection).
Familiarity with well-surveillance programs such as LOWIS, XSPOC, and Foresite.
