Position Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure all tooling, fixtures, gages, and precision-machined components meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards. This individual will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using a variety of precision measuring equipment while working closely with machinists, programmers, engineers, and management to maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate has experience inspecting close-tolerance machined components, interpreting engineering drawings, and applying GD&T principles.
Responsibilities
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision-machined tooling, fixtures, gages, and custom components.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and CAD-generated prints.
Inspect complex parts using precision measuring equipment, including:
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Height Gages
Micrometers
Calipers
Bore Gages
Pin Gages
Thread Gages
Optical Comparator
Surface Plate Inspection Equipment
Verify dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerances, surface finishes, and overall conformance to specifications.
Read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Complete first article inspection reports, in-process documentation, and final inspection records.
Identify nonconforming material and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of quality documentation.
Verify calibration status of inspection equipment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Follow established quality procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years of quality inspection experience within a precision machining, tooling, or manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
