Purchasing Manager –Food Manufacturing
A well-established and rapidly expanding food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement function. This senior-level position is critical to ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply chain during a period of significant growth.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the procurement of packaging materials, dry goods, and select raw materials required for high-volume food manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize costs and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, ethical standards, and competitive pricing.
Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, conduct ongoing performance reviews, and resolve issues as they arise.
Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory management strategies to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, finance, and senior leadership teams to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
Prepare and present procurement reports, performance metrics, and cost-savings initiatives to management.
Support ongoing company expansion by identifying new sourcing channels, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience as a purchasing manager or senior procurement professional in a food manufacturing or similar production environment.
In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, vendor management, and inventory control systems.
Strong negotiation, budgeting, and cost-optimization skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
