Property Accountant

Location: Fall River, MA

Employment Type:  Full-Time, Onsite
Industry:  Real Estate Development & Property Management

A growing and well-established real estate development and property management company in Southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a Property Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. The organization manages a diverse portfolio of retail, commercial, residential, and hospitality properties and is known for its stable environment, collaborative culture, and long-term growth.

This role offers excellent exposure to full-cycle property accounting along with strong benefits and career advancement potential. It is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to grow within a dynamic real estate environment while gaining hands-on experience across a diverse property portfolio.

This position is fully onsite and requires commuting to the office five days per week.


Responsibilities:
  • Handle full-cycle accounting for approximately 10 mixed-use retail and office properties
  • Perform month-end and year-end close, including preparation of financial statements
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of mortgages, property taxes, insurance, and utilities
  • Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) billings, water billings, and percentage rent billings
  • Support additional accounting and team initiatives as needed

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years’of relevant Accounting experience required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger fundamentals (accruals, prepaids, reconciliations)
  • Experience with M3, Sage, or similar accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills are required
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
