A premier mechanical contracting firm specializing in HVAC and building automation solutions is looking for a strong project manager who would be looking to move into supporting technical sales with a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, and has a strong focus on the delivery of tailored systems that optimize energy efficiency and operational performance and is looking for exceptional talent to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
Proven project manager skills in the mechanical contracting commercial construction industry with in-depth knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC technologies, and mechanical engineering principles to effectively articulate the technical advantages of our products and services.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to understand project requirements and propose innovative solutions that align with their objectives.
5-7 years in the industry
Sales and Business Development:
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share within the assigned territory or market segment new sales
Support leads from serviced accounts and upsell, manage service contract renewals, design-build leads from PM's
Generate leads, conduct presentations, and prepare comprehensive proposals that showcase our capabilities and address customer needs effectively.
Supporting multiple territories in Raleigh and Wilmington Eastern Carolina
Project Coordination:
Work closely with internal teams, including project managers and engineers, to ensure seamless project execution from sales handoff to system implementation.
Working with Service Managers in other areas Raleigh and Wilmington North Carolina outside of Greensboro, NC
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, addressing inquiries, resolving challenges, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Recommend product enhancements or new offerings based on customer feedback and market demands.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and loyalty through exceptional service and support.
Conduct regular follow-ups to assess customer satisfaction, identify additional needs, and cultivate long-term partnerships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven sales success in a sales engineer role within the building automation, HVAC, or mechanical contracting industry.
Familiar with Trane and JCI (Johnson Control products)
Strong technical acumen with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
CAD experience a plus
Experience with estimating software such as Trimble, Esticom, etc
Takeoff software - Bluebeam Revu
Energy Analysis software a plus for HVAC
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required not too much overnight
