Lead assigned engineering projects from scope definition through implementation, validation, documentation, and handoff to operations.
Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, risk trackers, and communication updates to support project execution.
Coordinate technical activities related to equipment installations, process improvements, tooling changes, layouts, facility modifications, and manufacturing support projects.
Prepare, review, and interpret drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, layouts, technical requirements, and work instructions.
Partner with production, quality, maintenance, tooling, facilities, supply chain, vendors, contractors, and leadership to align project requirements and resolve technical issues.
Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, process capability improvement, and operational reliability initiatives.
Coordinate vendors, contractors, equipment suppliers, tool shops, and service providers, including scope definition, scheduling, cost control, and follow-up.
Support trials, validations, engineering changes, equipment qualifications, process documentation, and implementation readiness.
Monitor project progress, open actions, risks, costs, and schedule performance, and escalate concerns to leadership as needed.
Maintain project documentation, technical files, meeting notes, action trackers, change records, and status reports.
Ensure project activity aligns with company safety expectations, quality procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of project engineering, manufacturing processes, equipment implementation, process improvement, and technical problem solving.
Engineering technical knowledge required, including ability to interpret drawings, specifications, layouts, tolerances, process requirements, and product-related technical data.
Working knowledge of project planning, validation, change control, root cause analysis, corrective action, process control, and continuous improvement practices.
Strong communication, organization, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management, CAD, ERP, maintenance, or reporting systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional internal teams.
3+ years of progressive project engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or related industrial experience.
Experience coordinating technical projects and working cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, tooling, facilities, supply chain, vendors, and leadership.
Experience analyzing technical issues, managing action plans, supporting process improvements, and improving equipment or process performance.
Experience in ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949-certified manufacturing environments.
Experience in plastic injection molding, assembly, metal components, industrial products, or related process-driven manufacturing environments.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.
Experience with CAD, layout planning, equipment installations, tooling projects, facility modifications, and cross-functional project management.•Able to work in manufacturing floor, project, vendor, contractor, and office environments with exposure to noise, machinery, equipment installation activity, and varying temperatures.
Must use required PPE based on operational area, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
Occasional extended hours or after-hours support may be required to support installations, trials, validations, urgent project issues, or production needs.
Limited travel may be required to support vendors, suppliers, customers, contractors, or project activity
