Job Title: Production Planning Coordinator Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Plant Manager Location: On-Site - Northeast of Columbia, SC
Our client is looking for a Production Planning Coordinator to join their team. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing production schedules within the manufacturing facility. The role will be to ensures the timely production and delivery of semi-finished and finished goods, while also forecasting and planning material requirements based on customer demand. The coordinator plays a key role in inventory management, ensuring accuracy and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
Requirements:
+ Experience: 5+ years manufacturing, supply chain, and/or logistics - with knowledge of Value Stream Mapping + SAP experience: Required + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics or closely related major required or equivalent experience.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Production Planning & Scheduling: Coordinate the scheduling of production for both semi-finished and finished goods, working closely with the operations team to ensure smooth production flows. + Material Management: Forecast material needs based on customer demand and ensure the accurate ordering and timely delivery of materials, in line with inventory levels. + Communication & Coordination: Liaise with the team overseas to ensure on-time deliveries and manage delivery quantities based on shifts in customer demand, utilizing MRP. Address escalations as needed to meet demand fluctuations. + Supplier & Delivery Optimization: Determine optimal delivery quantities and frequencies by considering factors such as supplier location, lead times, "firm zone" requirements, customer demand, and transportation costs. + Policy & Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of policies and procedures related to production order fulfillment and inventory control. + Team Management: Oversee and support daily activities for Expeditors and the Inventory Control Clerk, ensuring efficient task execution. + SAP Management: Assist in the setup and maintenance of scheduling agreements and master data in SAP, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. + Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with teams in Operations, Warehouse, and Purchasing to resolve any disruptions in material supply or production output, ensuring continuity in the manufacturing process. + Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support production planning and inventory management functions.
