Position Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a manufacturing or production facility. This role focuses on ensuring safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and team leadership. The Production Manager works closely with leadership to meet company goals while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage production and sanitation teams across multiple operational areas.
Support and supervise shift operations, including providing coverage and training as needed.
Oversee mixing, preparation, or processing activities depending on product line requirements.
Ensure all operations are performed safely and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure consistent implementation.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to meet or exceed product quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement efforts across production and sanitation processes.
Mentor and develop front-line supervisors to build strong, high-performing teams.
Promote clear, open communication across departments and shifts.
Identify and report any food safety or quality concerns promptly.
Foster a positive work environment and promote team morale.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems with a focus on accuracy and detail.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and team accountability.
Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
Training & Compliance (as applicable):
Safety procedures and workplace hazard awareness
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Allergen awareness and sanitation protocols
HACCP or equivalent food safety programs
First Aid/CPR certification (as required)
Reports To: Senior Leadership or Plant Executive
Backup Provided By: Designated Plant or Operations Manager
