POSITION: Power BI Manager/Specialist LOCATION: Jacksonville, FL Work Type: Full-time, Onsite
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Manager/Specialist to lead and enhance our Power BI environment. This role will focus on maintaining our data models, managing ETL processes, developing impactful dashboards and reports, and working closely with third-party vendors to ensure smooth data integration and reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Model Management:
Optimize and maintain existing Power BI data models for high performance and accuracy.
Apply data modeling best practices and visualization techniques to improve the user experience.
2. ETL Integration:
Identify, integrate, and manage new data sources within the Power BI platform.
Develop and oversee ETL processes to ensure data is clean, accurate, and promptly available.
Partner with data engineers and IT to streamline data flows and optimize integration.
3. Dashboard and Report Development
Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with actionable insights.
Ensure dashboards are intuitive, aligned with department needs, and updated based on user feedback and evolving business requirements.
4. Vendor Collaboration
Work with third-party vendors to integrate external data sources and tools effectively.
Manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with company standards and data quality.
5. User Training and Support
Provide training sessions and ongoing support to Power BI end-users on platform functionalities and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation and training resources to enhance user adoption and proficiency.
6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor Power BI report and dashboard performance, implementing adjustments as needed to improve efficiency.
Produce regular performance and usage reports for stakeholders.
7. Industry Knowledge
Stay current on Power BI features, tools, and industry best practices.
Recommend upgrades and enhancements to improve the Power BI environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in Power BI management or similar roles, with expertise in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
Proficient in ETL tools and processes.
Strong SQL and database management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Collaborative, with experience working in cross-functional teams and with external vendors.
Familiarity with Azure Data Services or other cloud-based solutions.
Knowledge of data visualization best practices and user experience design.
Relevant certifications in Power BI or data analytics.
