A growing hospitality group is expanding its accounting team and seeks a Payroll administrator. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing for a workforce of 350-400 employees across 7-8 entities. This role requires a versatile and pleasant individual who is comfortable with both in-office and remote work environments. The Payroll Administrator will work closely with the HR Administrator/Coordinator and report directly to the CFO. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks and possess a positive attitude, as the team is eager to find someone who will contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, salary calculations, and wage adjustments for both hourly and salaried employees
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for 350-400 employees across multiple entities
Collaborate with the HR Administrator/Coordinator to oversee payroll and HR responsibilities
Maintain and update payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Review and approve hours submitted by employees through a certified payroll company
Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries
Work with the accounting team to ensure payroll expenses are accurately recorded
Assist in the development and implementation of payroll procedures and improvements
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks is required
Previous experience working in an in-office environment and adapting to hybrid work setups
Pleasant demeanor with a strong focus on positive attitude and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a backlog of data entry tasks
Experience with payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees.
Familiarity with HR and payroll functions, with the ability to work closely with HR personnel
Experience with large payroll volumes (350-400 employees)
Previous experience with restructuring payroll teams or processes
Knowledge of California payroll regulations and compliance
