A growing hospitality group is expanding its accounting team and seeks a Payroll administrator. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing for a workforce of 350-400 employees across 7-8 entities. This role requires a versatile and pleasant individual who is comfortable with both in-office and remote work environments. The Payroll Administrator will work closely with the HR Administrator/Coordinator and report directly to the CFO. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks and possess a positive attitude, as the team is eager to find someone who will contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, salary calculations, and wage adjustments for both hourly and salaried employees
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for 350-400 employees across multiple entities
  • Collaborate with the HR Administrator/Coordinator to oversee payroll and HR responsibilities
  • Maintain and update payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Review and approve hours submitted by employees through a certified payroll company
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure payroll expenses are accurately recorded
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll procedures and improvements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks is required
  • Previous experience working in an in-office environment and adapting to hybrid work setups
  • Pleasant demeanor with a strong focus on positive attitude and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a backlog of data entry tasks
  • Experience with payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Familiarity with HR and payroll functions, with the ability to work closely with HR personnel
  • Experience with large payroll volumes (350-400 employees)
  • Previous experience with restructuring payroll teams or processes
  • Knowledge of California payroll regulations and compliance
