Commercial Contracts & Supply Chain: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including equipment purchases, raw material supply, distribution, vendor services, logistics, and master service agreements (MSAs).
Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws impacting manufacturing operations, including OSHA/OHS regulations, environmental standards (EPA/ECCC), trade and import/export compliance (USMCA/CUSMA), and product safety standards.
Labor & Employment Support: Partner with Human Resources to provide guidance on labor relations, employment practices, workplace safety incidents, wage and hour compliance, and cross-border employee mobility.
Corporate Governance & Entity Management: Assist with corporate governance, board materials, subsidiary management, and maintaining corporate records across jurisdictions in the US and Canada.
Risk Management & Litigation Management: Proactively identify legal risks associated with facility operations and product liability;manage external legal counsel on active litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory inquiries.
Real Estate & Facilities: Assist with commercial real estate transactions, facility leases, equipment financing, and local zoning or municipal compliance matters.
Requirements:
Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. / LL.M.) from an accredited law school.
Bar Admission: Active bar license in good standing in at least one US state
Experience: 4–7+ years of practicing law, with a strong emphasis on commercial law, corporate governance, or manufacturing operations (mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience preferred).
Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience with commercial contracts, product liability, supply chain management, and cross-border North American trade laws (USMCA/CUSMA).
Skills: Excellent negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving abilities;capacity to manage multiple priority projects in a fast-paced industrial environment.
