Job Title: Network Analyst
Contract Duration: November 25, 2024 –May 24, 2025 (6-month contract with potential extension) Location: Houston, TX Job Overview The Network Analyst will join the IT –Global Networking team and report to the Manager of Network Services. Based in the Houston office, this role will support the company’s enterprise network operations and contribute expertise to projects requiring network proficiency. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot and manage network performance while effectively communicating with global teams and end-users. Key Responsibilities
Serve as a resource for resolving reported network and application performance issues.
Manage and support network monitoring and configuration management software.
Provide technical support for field networks, including industrial switches, routers, and wireless bridges.
Utilize the company’s service portal to manage service requests, outages, and change requests.
Identify innovative ways to optimize the use of existing applications and technologies.
Forecast and coordinate management of change for scheduled maintenance weekends.
Communicate effectively with end-users and peers across global teams.
Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will possess the following:
Required:
Experience troubleshooting network performance in large enterprise environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
Customer interfacing capabilities to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless hardware.
Proficiency with SolarWinds Network Management applications.
Knowledge of troubleshooting EIGRP, BGP, firewalls, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, Spanning Tree, and network security.
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN).
Working knowledge of Cisco Collaboration products.
Preferred:
Experience with Riverbed WAN optimization appliances, Cascade, and Net Profiler.
Proficiency in packet-level analysis using tools like Gigamon and Wireshark.
Experience with Cisco ISE/NAC.
Knowledge of Splunk for troubleshooting purposes.
Experience working in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in field support.
