Job Description


Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design of HVAC systems for commercial and educational facilities.
    • Perform load calculations.
    • Select air-unit and chiller equipment.
    • Design ductwork, pump, and pipe sizing and layout.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of construction documents.
  • Provide design ideas and solutions.
  • Train or mentor other designers, operators, or engineers.

Your Impact:
  • Develop and modify Revit models of plumbing and HVAC systems according to established standards.
  • Review Revit modeling techniques based on input from the engineering team and project managers.
  • Manage the execution of designs for Revit models and AutoCAD documents for multiple projects.
  • Oversee equipment schedules and make necessary changes with input from the engineering team.
  • Use Revit to manage and resolve design interferences with other building elements.
  • Interpret consultant design documents to design the necessary HVAC system.
  • Mentor and train other designers and engineers on design techniques and principles.
  • Organize detailed documentation to track project development and design processes.
  • Produce coordinated floor plans, riser diagrams, and isometrics for complex HVAC systems.
  • Monitor the installation of equipment and systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of work experience with an engineering consultant.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering technology field.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Physically able and willing to conduct site inspections and fieldwork (e.G., climbing ladders, walking on roofs).
  • Ability to self-assess and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Project experience in the K-12 educational market.
