Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer

Join a rapidly growing division of a world leading high performance manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities

New product design including high speed fabric, sectional, and rolling steel doors
Develop and implement product design enhancements resulting in increased quality, manufacturability, and cost reductions
Administrator of CREO/Windchill environments
Work with the engineering group to update existing CREO models as needed
Design, test, and implement product enhancements based on field feedback
Act on Engineering Change Requests as needed
Work with production floor personnel as needed

Required Skills and Experience

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Knowledge of architectural testing and international building codes a plus
Analytical problem solver
Able to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely manner
Experience with Pro-Engineer/CREO 3D modeling software using parametric programming
Experience constructing and maintaining product bills of material
Experience with Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
Lean methodology experience
1-3 years of mechanical design experience in product development and manufacturing
Effective communicator
Ability to work in a group environment

Education

BS in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years of mechanical design experience

Department and Supervisor

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the Engineering Department and will report to the Engineering Manager

Travel

Expected travel will be <5%
