- Set up and operate CNC and manual machining centers to produce high-quality parts for electronic component manufacturing. - Create, inspect, and ensure machined parts meet specifications. - Program and post tool paths, select tools and determine feeds and speeds using Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD/CAM software. - Program and adjust G-code as necessary. - Design and model parts, prototypes, fixtures, and transfer molds using Autodesk Inventor. - Manufacture tools and work closely with Design/Development Engineers during product development. - Assist engineers in understanding practical machining practices.
**Experience:**
- Proficient in operating CNC machine tools (Vertical Machining Centers and Lathes) to manufacture steel and aluminum parts in a low-volume production and prototyping environment. - Skilled in using manual shop equipment such as lathes, mills, band saws, and grinders. - Experienced in programming components (2D and 3D) using G-code and/or Autodesk Inventor (or similar software). - Capable of reading and adjusting G-code programs as needed.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Expertise in setting up and operating CNC and manual machining centers and tooling. - Familiarity with general cutting and measuring tools used in a machine shop environment. - Ability to multitask and operate multiple machines with minimal supervision. - Experience in reworking existing component hardware. - Proficient in using standard measuring and inspection equipment for part measurement. - Knowledgeable in reading dimensioned drawings and understanding part inspection and measurement methods. - Adept at selecting proper tooling and machining techniques for standard materials (aluminum, tool steels, some plastics, etc.). - Working knowledge of fixture and tooling design to support component fabrication.
