Our client is on the lookout for a Machine Shop Manager to join their team. If you're a seasoned pro in machining with an ability for leadership and a passion for excellence, then this role might just be your perfect fit.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in a leadership capacity within a machine shop environment.
Machining processes, CNC programming, and tooling are a must.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated track record of effectively managing and motivating diverse teams.
Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead and inspire a team of machinists and operators to meet production goals while fostering a positive work environment.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members for skill enhancement and performance enhancement.
The ideal candidate will take charge of day-to-day operations in the machine shop, ensuring seamless workflow and on-time project completion. They develop and execute production schedules, prioritizing tasks to fulfill customer requirements. They will be in charge of Quality Assurance they will establish and uphold rigorous quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of precision and quality in machined components. And collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
This person will optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime. They will monitor and manage expenses to align with budgetary constraints.
This person will be in charge of improvement, they will identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement strategies to boost productivity and minimize waste. They will stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, recommending and implementing relevant improvements.
You will head up the safety and compliance. You would ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and regulatory compliance. You will conduct regular safety audits and provide comprehensive safety training to team members.
