Purpose:
We have offices in San Diego and Sacramento, but attorneys have the flexibility to work remotely if desired. We are seeking a self-motivated Litigation Attorney to handle pre-litigation and litigation matters involving real estate, title, mortgages, foreclosure, and creditor’s rights. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral advocacy skills and demonstrate logical and critical thinking abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage litigation cases from inception to completion, including pre-litigation matters and clearing title to real property.
  • Develop budgets and legal strategies for cases.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare analyses on risks and strategies.
  • Draft and argue pleadings and motions.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery.
  • Collaborate with supervising partners and clients to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences, both in-person and remotely.
  • Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.

Job Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California, with maintenance of necessary licensing and MCLE requirements;additional licenses in other states are a plus.
  • Five years of litigation experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates with a strong interest in real estate or mortgage law will be considered.
  • Knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, and creditor’s rights preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet research.
  • Ability to maintain an annual hourly billing requirement of 1, 920 hours.
  • Must reside in California or a firm footprint state and be available for in-person hearings as needed.
