Job Description: Judicial Foreclosure - Associate Attorney 
Location: Honolulu, HI

Purpose

A well-established multi-state law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to practice out of its Hawaii office. The Associate Attorney will manage cases with an emphasis on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters, protecting the client's interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities

Attend mediations, trials, hearings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Willing and able to travel on an as-needed basis.

Able to work collaboratively with all team members.

Willing to write articles and make presentations to clients and trade associations.

Participate in marketing initiatives and business development efforts.

Manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.

Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Minimum of five years of litigation/courtroom experience (foreclosure experience a plus).

Member of the state Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.

Subject matter expert in their field.

Manage employees and oversee P&L responsibility.

Proficient in performing legal research and writing.

Proficient in taking and defending depositions.

Proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters.

Proficiency with legal research tools such as Fastcase or Westlaw.

Well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal court.

Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department whenever necessary.

Develops professional relationships and builds rapport with others.

Overall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to change.
