Purpose of Position: The Internal Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for maintaining a consistent flow of loan volume through collaboration with real estate brokers, referrals, and company-provided lead sources. These include direct mail marketing, online applications, and Branch Manager referrals.
This role will be an in office/hybrid position, however could be fully remote depending on the experience of the applicant. Leads will be provided as well!
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and accurately complete loan applications with information from borrowers.
Analyze borrower income and debt to pre-qualify them, determining the maximum mortgage they can afford.
Counsel borrowers on the home buying and financing process, advising on different loan products and demonstrating variations in closing costs and monthly payments.
Provide necessary disclosures, such as truth in lending and good faith estimates.
Assist borrowers in understanding and resolving credit issues.
Maintain consistent communication with borrowers, realtors, and lenders from application to closing, providing updates and gathering additional information as needed.
Qualifications:
Must possess the appropriate license or certificates.
Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
Working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
Familiarity with local, state, and national laws, including zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to analyze financial information.
