Industrial Quality Engineer –Product Development & Manufacturing SupportResponsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to improve design and manufacturing quality, with a focus on preventing late-stage production issues.
Apply quality tools such as:
Design/Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (D/P FMEA)
Process Flow Mapping
Control Plans
Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Process Capability Studies
Drive improvements in First Time Quality outcomes.
Initiate and support the implementation of process enhancements identified through the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
Provide regular updates to management and external stakeholders regarding quality performance and status.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to implement effective gauging and inspection strategies.
Mentor product development teams on best practices in the use of quality tools.
Lead teams in structured problem-solving activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred;degrees in Mechanical Engineering or related fields will be considered.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality Engineering within a production environment.
Demonstrated proficiency with quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, capability analysis, and statistical validation methods.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledgeable in the use of measurement gauges and inspection equipment.
Practical experience using root-cause and corrective action tools, including but not limited to:
Shainin / Red X
Fault Tree Analysis
Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagrams
5 Whys
Proactive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
Familiarity with industry standards and quality frameworks, including:
ISO 9001
AS9100 / AS9145
AS13100
AIAG APQP and PPAP
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
Background in statistical analysis and quality data interpretation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
