Job Summary:
The Commercial HVAC/Plumbing Superintendent will provide guidance and support for the field and
management personnel in the New Construction and Retrofit department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees, schedules, and coordinates daily work assignments of the field and management
workers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assign responsibilities to field personnel.
Achieves quality standards.
Inspects work performed.
Attains all operational and productivity goals including budget adherence and productivity levels
of field crews and subcontractors.
Ensures a safe environment.
Ensures that the company provides materials.
Provides equipment and supplies on a timely basis for field personnel.
Enforces all company policies and procedures and operates the department in accordance with
all applicable government rules and regulations.
Assigns responsibilities to field foremen.
Ensures the attainment of all productivity goals.
Ensures the attainment of quality control goals.
Preplans and schedules jobs with Project Managers and relaying information to field foremen.
Interacts with customers’ personnel on job sites to ensure their needs are met promptly.
Ensures sufficient parts, materials, and supplies are on hand to meet installation goals.
Recommends required equipment purchases.
Ensures all field paperwork (including daily work logs) is maintained accurately and promptly.
Stays informed of trends and changes in the industry and incorporates them in the department
as appropriate.
Interprets and ensures field compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Operates within budgeted goals.
Deals with subcontractors and their work on projects.
Keeps an up-to-date log of Job Data Sheets on all active projects.
Participates in the investigation and solution of customer complaints as needed.
Review job costs on completed jobs to ensure profit standards.
Ensures the proper coordination and flow of information between the field and administrative
personnel.
Provides guidance and support for all positions reporting directly to the superintendent.
Monitors productivity levels and measures against expectations and requirements continuously.
Prepares all reports requested by the Project Manager.
Keeps the Project Manager informed of all problems, potential and actual, that cannot be
resolved within the department.
Keeps Project Managers informed of potential change orders.
Prepares material lists and order sheets in support of projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’ s degree preferred.
Relevant certifications, such as HVAC and plumbing licenses or certifications, as required by local
regulations required.
Minimum five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
Ability to reach above shoulders, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend.
Ability to stand & walk, reach outward constantly, and frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb, balance on ladders, scissors, or boom lifts and scaffolds, and stand or walk for
long periods at a time.
