FACILITIES PROJECT ENGINEER

Job Description


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee small to moderately complex capital improvement and maintenance/repair projects from inception to completion as assigned.
  • Ensure projects are finished on schedule and within budget, surpassing company expectations when possible.
  • Provide technical project engineering assistance for large-scale/highly complex capital improvement and maintenance/repair projects.
  • Offer design and engineering support to construction and maintenance staff.
  • Prepare or supervise the creation of drawings to aid all projects.
  • Review design documents for adherence to engineering principles, company standards, and relevant specifications.
  • Define and procure materials for facility and process system expansion or renovation.
  • Collaborate with external contractors or vendors to execute and finalize projects.
  • Coordinate activities related to technical advancements, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design challenges.
  • Guarantee adherence to project specifications, the company’ s safety program criteria, and all applicable regulatory codes.
  • Maintain a physical presence on-site, which is imperative and obligatory.
  • Undertake additional tasks as designated by management.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:
  • Hold a Bachelor’ s degree or possess equivalent experience.
  • Possess certification in Construction, Facilities Management, or Project Management (preferred).
  • Display proficiency in managing multiple project budgets and scheduling teams (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate experience interpreting blueprints, work orders, site and floor plans, building codes, zoning laws, and surveying.
  • Excel in collaborative environments.
  • Acquire familiarity with established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, techniques, and site planning, as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Be well-versed in various equipment and tools, and exhibit competence in skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks (preferred).
  • Exhibit strong communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; adeptness in prioritization and multitasking; proactive and deadline-driven orientation.
  • Effectively collaborate with subcontractors and local authorities as needed.
