Job Description


Our client is seeking an Enterprise Risk Manager in a hybrid role located in Raleigh, NC. As a Risk Manager, you will interact with business process owners to identify, assess, manage, and report on risks.

Some areas of focus for this role are:
  • quantification of risks, including credit and market risks
  • collaboration with multiple functions on risk management (including the Investments team)
  • risk reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory and solvency capital
  • oversight of model risk management
  • oversight of risk governance

This individual will be a key subject matter expert in quantification of risks as well as regulatory and solvency capital which are key inputs into the annual ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) requirement. This role will interact with the company's Investment team on credit and market risks.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate as an active member of the Risk team in discussions and analyses focused on the process to identify, assess, manage, and report risks.
  • Quantify risks (including credit and market risks) through regular communication with stakeholders as well as collaboration with the company's Investments team.
  • Subject matter expert on Regulatory and Solvency capital providing input for regulatory reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee Model Risk Management and Governance process. Collaborate with model owners to perform attestations and project manage model validation reviews with external third-party experts. Seek opportunities to advance model risk management.
  • Own risk governance process including the delegation of authority process. This process ensures that there are controls in place for key decision making in the Business.
  • Contribute to key decision-making meetings and present your analyses, recommendations, and reports in Chief Risk Officer reviews and other venues.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical business-oriented degree such as: Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or other technical degree.
  • Five years of previous experience in a risk-related role with experience in an insurance company.
  • Previous experience with regulatory reporting as well as regulatory and solvency capital.
  • Basic modeling experience either in a previous role or as part of obtaining your degree.
  • Strong drive, ability to lead initiatives, and able to work with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to successfully interact with senior leaders.
  • Proficient mastery of Microsoft suite programs
