We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to develop and design electrical control systems for Oil & Gas drilling equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and design electrical control systems for Oil & Gas drilling equipment as part of the electrical engineering team.
Produce drawings packages including Electrical One Line Diagrams, Wiring/Interconnect Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, I/O Lists, Cable Indexes, and Fabrication and Assembly drawings of Control Panels and Terminal Boxes.
Design electrical subsystems and assemblies to meet customer and internal requirements while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
Coordinate and review designs with third parties and customers.
Design new drilling products and coordinate equipment Factory Acceptance Tests, electrical commissioning, and start-up support as needed.
Provide leadership in continuously improving quality and processes to enhance efficiency.
Ensure equipment designs comply with industry standards, both domestic and international.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in control systems.
Preferred experience with drilling equipment and drilling applications.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards, as well as ABS and DNV rules.
Familiarity with hazardous area ratings for electrical equipment such as ATEX, IECEx, UL, FM, and CSA for offshore drilling installations.
Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
Experience with PLC and HMI applications preferred.
Travel Requirements:
Domestic and international travel may be required on occasion.
