Job Description


A leader in affordable, multifamily housing is seeking a Quality Manager for their Scottsdale-based office. The Quality Manager is a pivotal role responsible for supervising all aspects of construction quality across multiple projects. This position collaborates with management and field staff to drive continuous improvement in processes and outcomes, ensuring the highest quality standards.

Quality Program Oversight:
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Program and Process (QPP) that includes quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) measures.
  • Conduct quarterly Quality Walks for each project, providing comprehensive reports on findings.
  • Automate inspection and quality data management using SmartSheet to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead Manager/Architect Unit Sign-offs and coordinate follow-up actions with field staff.
Project Management:
  • Oversee initial site evaluations to ensure optimal logistics, including staging and phasing.
  • Maintain adherence to startup checklist and procedures across project teams.
  • Develop site visit schedules to ensure continuous adherence to quality standards and processes.
  • Aim for zero punch lists at project turnovers by monitoring and refining punch-out procedures.
  • Ensure that all project maintenance, training, and closeout processes are followed to include proper allocation of O&M manuals and warranty paperwork.

Safety and Compliance:
  • Collaborate closely with the Safety Director to enforce safety standards and protocols.
  • Oversee job site reporting, including daily logs, incident reports, and emergency action plans.

Team Development and Leadership:
  • Manage onboarding and training processes for new hires in field operations.
  • Offer technical assistance to project teams and provide targeted resources for skill enhancement.
  • Develop and execute training and mentoring programs tailored to individual field team needs.
  • Support Team Leaders in creating and implementing 90-day Individual Development Plans (90IDPs) to facilitate regular feedback and personal development.
Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in site logistics, contract operations, and construction documentation.
  • Lead continuous project oversight and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with Icon.

National standards:
  • Prepare weekly performance reports summarizing project and personnel status.
  • Maintain and evolve Construction Operations Department policies and practices.

Skills and Special Requirements:
  • Required: OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience as a Project Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within construction.
  • Expertise in project management phases, from start-up to closeout.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and modern construction management software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • This role involves both office and field work, with physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexible hours may be required, including weekends and holidays, depending on project demands.
  • Travel to various sites and client offices will be necessary.
