About the Opportunity:

Our client is a construction management firm supporting a major aviation capital improvement program in Los Angeles. They are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (PM II) to support the delivery of complex design-build infrastructure projects within an active operating environment.

This role is responsible for assisting with the management of scope, schedule, budget, and construction execution, while supporting coordination across stakeholders, design teams, and contractors. The position plays a key role in ensuring project delivery aligns with program objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational constraints.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in managing project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate with contractors, designers, consultants, and stakeholders across all phases of the project
  • Assist with development of project plans including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover
  • Participate in stakeholder coordination and interface management across multiple groups
  • Support management of design-build and progressive design-build project delivery processes
  • Assist with contract administration, procurement, and trade coordination
  • Monitor project progress to ensure schedule adherence and budget performance
  • Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning
  • Assist in resolving design, constructability, and operational issues
  • Participate in design reviews, construction coordination, and field activities
  • Support permitting coordination and regulatory compliance processes
  • Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and project documentation for leadership
  • Monitor quality assurance and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards
  • Support coordination of RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Assist with project closeout activities and documentation


Mandatory Requirements:


(Candidates must meet all requirements)
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction project management or related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related technical field
  • Experience managing or supporting large-scale capital construction projects (typically $40M+)
  • Experience working within active operating environments (aviation, transportation, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of design-build and progressive design-build delivery methods
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Strong understanding of construction contracting practices and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Los Angeles


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on aviation or airport infrastructure projects
  • Experience with stakeholder-heavy environments and complex project interfaces
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CCM, LEED, or similar
  • DBIA certification or experience with progressive design-build delivery
  • Experience managing projects from concept through construction and closeout
