Job Description


An HVAC Installer shall demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to work overhead from ladders, man lifts, scaffolds, etc.
  • Ability to detail duct & duct fittings for fabrication in the field and from drawings
  • Ability to layout, install, and seal duct systems
  • Ability to make field modifications to ductwork to fit unforeseen site conflicts
  • Must possess an EPA refrigerant card
  • Must possess and be proficient in the use of hand tools related to the trade
  • Must possess the ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to braze copper refrigerant piping
  • Ability to terminate power and thermostat wire at equipment
  • Ability to evacuate, charge, and start HVAC equipment
  • Ensures all work documentation is fully and accurately completed.
  • Produce quality work in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
  • Responsible for keeping and maintaining a clean workspace.

The following items are preferable;however, they are not required for consideration:
  • Ability to install refrigeration piping systems
  • Ability to terminate electrical wiring at various HVAC equipment
  • Knowledge of CHW / HW systems
  • Capable of effectively directing apprentices.

The following qualifications along with individual previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • 5 years of experience in commercial and Industrial HVAC installation is preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred but not required
  • Have and maintain a professional image
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required (minimal)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel overnight as required (minimal)
