An HVAC Installer shall demonstrate the following competencies:
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Ability to work overhead from ladders, man lifts, scaffolds, etc.
Ability to detail duct & duct fittings for fabrication in the field and from drawings
Ability to layout, install, and seal duct systems
Ability to make field modifications to ductwork to fit unforeseen site conflicts
Must possess an EPA refrigerant card
Must possess and be proficient in the use of hand tools related to the trade
Must possess the ability to read and use a tape measure
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Ability to braze copper refrigerant piping
Ability to terminate power and thermostat wire at equipment
Ability to evacuate, charge, and start HVAC equipment
Ensures all work documentation is fully and accurately completed.
Produce quality work in a timely manner.
Adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
Responsible for keeping and maintaining a clean workspace.
The following items are preferable;however, they are not required for consideration:
Ability to install refrigeration piping systems
Ability to terminate electrical wiring at various HVAC equipment
Knowledge of CHW / HW systems
Capable of effectively directing apprentices.
The following qualifications along with individual previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:
18 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
5 years of experience in commercial and Industrial HVAC installation is preferred
OSHA 10 certification is preferred but not required
Have and maintain a professional image
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required (minimal)
Excellent communication skills
Must be willing to travel overnight as required (minimal)
