Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our long-term care facility team. As a CNA, you will play a crucial role in providing essential care and support to residents in our facility, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your role will involve assisting residents with activities of daily living, documenting care provided, and contributing to a positive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living in a respectful and dignified manner.
Support residents with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment as needed.
Ensure that residents' hygiene needs are met and maintained.
Observation and Reporting:
Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions, behavior, or physical well-being to the nursing staff.
Document care is provided accurately and promptly in electronic medical records.
Nutrition and Hydration:
Assist residents with mealtime activities, including setting up and feeding if necessary.
Monitor and encourage residents' fluid intake to ensure proper hydration.
Comfort and Engagement:
Provide companionship and engage residents in activities that promote socialization and mental stimulation.
Help create a welcoming and comforting environment for residents and their families.
Safety and Assistance:
Ensure residents' safety by using proper lifting and transferring techniques and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
Assist with the positioning and turning of bedridden residents to prevent pressure ulcers.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement resident care plans.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated care.
Resident Rights and Dignity:
Respect and uphold residents' rights and dignity, promoting a culture of person-centered care.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents and their families.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care techniques.
Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with attention to detail.
