Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our long-term care facility team. As a CNA, you will play a crucial role in providing essential care and support to residents in our facility, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your role will involve assisting residents with activities of daily living, documenting care provided, and contributing to a positive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Personal Care:
    • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living in a respectful and dignified manner.
    • Support residents with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment as needed.
    • Ensure that residents' hygiene needs are met and maintained.

  2. Observation and Reporting:
    • Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions, behavior, or physical well-being to the nursing staff.
    • Document care provided accurately and promptly in electronic medical records.

  3. Nutrition and Hydration:
    • Assist residents with mealtime activities, including setting up and feeding if necessary.
    • Monitor and encourage residents' fluid intake to ensure proper hydration.

  4. Comfort and Engagement:
    • Provide companionship and engage residents in activities that promote socialization and mental stimulation.
    • Help create a welcoming and comforting environment for residents and their families.

  5. Safety and Assistance:
    • Ensure residents' safety by using proper lifting and transferring techniques and maintaining a hazard-free environment.
    • Assist with the positioning and turning of bedridden residents to prevent pressure ulcers.

  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement resident care plans.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated care.

  7. Resident Rights and Dignity:
    • Respect and uphold residents' rights and dignity, promoting a culture of person-centered care.

Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care techniques.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with attention to detail.
