CNC Boring Mill Machinist –Programmer
Position Overview
We have an opening for a CNC Machinist with programming expertise to machine custom components. This position is ideal for professionals with expertise in CNC Horizontal or Vertical Boring Mills who thrive on machining complex, one-off parts rather than repetitive production work. The successful candidate will have strong setup and machining experience with CNC mills and boring operations, combined with programming proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC Horizontal or Vertical Boring Mills to precision specifications.
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam software for boring and multi-axis milling operations.
Use precision machinery to perform milling and boring operations on large custom components with high accuracy and repeatability.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Determine tooling, workholding, and machine setups for large, custom components.
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam CAD/CAM software for boring and multi-axis milling operations.
Make program edits and machine adjustments to improve efficiency, accuracy, and part quality.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to maintain productivity.
Follow all safety and quality standards while meeting production deadlines.
Qualifications
Proven experience operating CNC Horizontal or Vertical Boring Mills.
Capabilities: Ability to perform boring and multi-axis milling operations on custom, fabricated, and heavy components.
Strong setup experience machining large, custom, or low-volume components.
Required: Experience with G-code and/or M-code programming and interpretation for CNC machine control.
Required: Strong proficiency with Mastercam CAD/CAM software, including creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs for boring and milling operations.
Experience with CNC program troubleshooting, toolpath optimization, and setup verification.
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule
Monday–Friday: 6: 00 AM –4: 00 PM OR 7: 00 AM –5: 00 PM
Optional Saturday hours: 7: 00 AM–12: 00 PM
Overtime paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate
Compensation
Pay: $30–$40 per hour, based on experience
