Business Development Manager (Player/Coach) –Technical Staffing
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday in office | Friday remote (additional flexibility available based on performance)
About the Opportunity
An established and growing technology staffing organization is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its Austin team. This is a true player/coach opportunity for a sales leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others while continuing to build and manage a successful personal book of business.

The office is in an exciting growth phase, making this a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to help shape the future of the sales organization. You'll play a key role in developing Account Executives, driving business development strategy, and contributing directly to the continued expansion of the office.
What You'll Do

  • Build and grow your own book of business through new client acquisition and relationship development.

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Account Executives.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.

  • Drive accountability around sales activity, pipeline management, and performance metrics.

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of sales professionals.

  • Prospect through cold calling, networking, referrals, and face-to-face client meetings.

  • Develop long-term partnerships with small and mid-sized businesses.

  • Partner closely with recruiting leadership to ensure exceptional client delivery.

  • Help scale the sales organization as the office continues to grow.
Qualifications

  • Technical staffing agency sales experience required.

  • Previous staffing agency sales leadership experience required.

  • 1-2+ years of sales leadership experience.

  • Proven success hiring, coaching, and developing agency sales professionals.

  • Strong track record of new business development and breaking into net-new accounts.

  • Comfortable prospecting through outbound outreach and cold calling.

  • Ability to remain hands-on in personal sales production while leading a team.

  • Experience helping grow teams and expanding a sales organization is highly preferred.
