About Our Client:

Our client is a full-service project and construction management consulting firm with over 20 years of experience in the Los Angeles area. They are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join their team and provide essential electrical design and project support services. The successful candidate will work closely with in-house staff, external task order engineers, and electrical service providers to ensure all electrical projects meet required standards and are delivered on time and within budget.


Candidates must meet all requirements/ Required elements of the JD:




Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide electrical design work, coordinating with in-house staff and task order engineers.
  • Review construction drawings to ensure compliance with project standards and mandated electrical codes.
  • Provide construction administration support for ongoing in-house projects.
  • Prepare electrical estimates to assist in developing project budgets.
  • Prepare reports and Project Requirement Documents to support funding requests for electrical projects.
  • Assist Design Managers in defining the electrical scope of projects.
  • Participate in virtual backcheck appointments with relevant stakeholders to confirm design compliance.
  • Visit project sites to verify as-built conditions when as-built drawings are missing or inaccurate.
  • Assist and resolve electrical issues during construction by providing expert direction regarding code compliance.
  • Coordinate with task order engineers and electrical service providers for power upgrades at project sites;review and approve design solutions.
  • Support Asset Management staff by clarifying and approving electrical scope for modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with the Inspection Department to integrate new code requirements and update design guides accordingly.
  • Conduct research on code changes and determine appropriate implementation strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of full-time, paid professional electrical design experience in public agency projects, school construction, or large capital commercial projects.
    OR
  • A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration of Civil and Professional Engineers.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
