About the Opportunity:
Our client is a construction management firm supporting a large public-sector capital improvement program in Los Angeles County. They are seeking an Asset/Move Project Manager I (Relocation Project Manager) to support furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) coordination and move management across construction and renovation projects.
This role is responsible for overseeing FF&E planning, procurement coordination, installation, and relocation activities to support successful occupancy of new and renovated facilities. The position works closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure all move and asset-related activities are delivered on time and within budget.
This role supports capital construction and modernization projects within a structured public-sector program environment, ensuring seamless transition and occupancy across multiple project phases.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Monterey Park, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage FF&E planning, programming, budgeting, procurement coordination, and installation activities
Oversee move management including scope development, vendor coordination, scheduling, and on-site execution
Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to align FF&E and move requirements
Develop and manage FF&E budgets and validate at key project milestones
Review design and construction documents to ensure proper coordination of FF&E requirements
Coordinate relocation and reuse of existing furniture and equipment where applicable
Manage procurement processes in accordance with public-sector contracting requirements
Coordinate swing space planning, move sequencing, and logistics
Oversee delivery, installation, and punch list activities to ensure functional occupancy
Coordinate with asset management teams for tagging, tracking, and disposition of equipment
Support project closeout activities related to FF&E and move management
Prepare reports and updates on project status and performance
Mandatory Requirements:
(Candidates must meet all requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, Planning, Facilities Management, or related field (Additional experience may substitute for education)
Minimum 6–10 years of project management experience in relocation, FF&E coordination, facilities, or related fields
Experience managing FF&E procurement, coordination, or installation
Ability to read and interpret architectural and furniture drawings
Knowledge of furniture and equipment specifications and procurement processes
Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam
Ability to work full-time on-site in Los Angeles County and travel between project sites
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in public-sector or educational environments
Experience with FF&E sourcing, procurement, or asset management
Experience using AutoCAD, Visio, or design-related tools
Interior design or related certifications (CID, CCIDQ, etc.)
Professional affiliations (IIDA, AIA, IFMA, LEED)
